Adrianna Hayes, August Terry, and Mason Kistler Attend North Carolina Girls State and Boys State
Congratulations to Adrianna Hayes, August Terry, and Mason Kistler on representing Pinnacle Classical Academy this summer at North Carolina Girls State and North Carolina Boys State!
These prestigious leadership programs, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion, provide rising high school seniors with the opportunity to experience government through active participation while developing leadership, citizenship, communication, and collaboration skills alongside peers from across North Carolina.
After returning home, we asked each student to reflect on their experience. Here's what they shared:
Adrianna Hayes – Girls State
"Girls State was one of the best opportunities I could take. Having the ability to meet new people who have the same ambitions as me was very nice. It showed how government works along with how the voting process works. Being able to stand at a podium and give a campaign speech was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but it was the coolest thing ever.
Every morning and afternoon, we heard inspirational speakers who encouraged us to dream big. I am so thankful to everyone who runs this program and to Pinnacle Classical Academy for making this opportunity possible because it is such an amazing experience for teenagers. It's more than having fun—you learn so many new things you wouldn't have if you never took this chance."
