Pinnacle Band Students Receive Superior Ratings at SEMPA

Published May 11, 2026
Congratulations to our talented Pinnacle Classical Academy sixth grade band students for their outstanding performances at the Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Adjudication (SEMPA) held on May 9, 2026, at Lincolnton Middle School.

SEMPA, hosted by the North Carolina Music Educators Association and the North Carolina Bandmasters Association, gives students the opportunity to perform for adjudicated ratings in the South Central District.

We are proud to recognize Mason Burns, who performed a clarinet solo and earned a Superior rating, and Melani Warthen-Miller, who performed two saxophone solos, earning one Superior rating and one Excellent rating.

Their dedication, preparation, and musical talent are a wonderful reflection of the hard work happening in our band program.

Thank you to Director Owens for your tireless dedication to our music program and for investing in our students each day. Congratulations to all on this outstanding achievement!
