Dear Kindergarten Parents,
I sincerely hope that you and your child are enjoying summertime and all of the wonderful things that come with this season. Catching lightning bugs, fishing, and reading were, and still are, my favorite summer activities. Just being outside of concrete walls and listening to nature’s music while thinking about how to build a treehouse that would reach Mars or coming up with a new mud pie recipe can feed the imagination of any child or adult. Summer is truly a special season and claims her spot on the calendar, whether Covid-19 is present or not. Enjoy her offerings and capitalize on this time with family and others in your “bubble” during the period of social distancing.
I have good news! We have a date for our kindergarten screening! We will screen students on July 20th & July 21st. This screening is a developmental screening that provides a useful snapshot of a child’s development at a particular point in time. You will reserve a time through SignUp Genius that is convenient for you. Click the link below to sign up.
Make sure you put your child’s name in the “comment” field when you sign up for your preferred time. The screening will take place at the Joes Lake Road campus due to construction and remodeling at the K-3 school. Please park in the north side parking lot. If you are facing the building, this is the lot to your right. We want parents to enter the building on this side. You will see balloons to lead the way. We will be taking necessary precautions in order to maintain health and wellness. We ask that adults wear a mask upon entry of the building, and, in order to limit exposure, please only bring your kindergartener to the screening, if at all possible.
You will receive an envelope in the mail with forms that will need to be filled out and brought to the screening on your chosen day.
Additional paperwork to bring with you are as follows:
- Official birth certificate (not the mother’s copy) A copy will be made and the original will be returned to you.
- Kindergarten Health Assessment Report (If you have completed a physical)
- Copy of student’s immunization record (or documentation of immunization exemption)
- Any court documents concerning custody arrangements or limitations
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact someone at the school. We will be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. Until then, carry on with your summer fun!
Summer smiles & sunshine,
