Making History – Our First Week of School

The day we anticipated for over two years finally arrived, and our first day of school was such a rewarding experience! The students entered the building with the ‘red carpet’ treatment from our staff, and they were excited and felt welcomed and special.  That is our goal at PCA – to make all students feel as they belong to something very special.

Our traffic plan worked very well. The flow of traffic moved very smoothly for the first day, and our law enforcement officers congratulated us on being one of the best school openings in the county. Thank you for your patience and for following our directions while we learned this process together. We improved our time with the traffic flow daily. By Friday, we were right on time, during both the morning unloading and the afternoon loading. Please drive slowly as you enter the parking lot in the afternoons as we have children outside for recess until 2:40 each day.  We will begin dismissing our staff at 7:50 am to enter the building so they can pick-up their students to go to their classrooms.  This will help to ensure that class begins on time each day at 8:00 am.  The Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence take place in the gym each morning at 7:50 before students are dismissed to class.

During the first two weeks of school, the students will be busy learning all of our policies, procedures, expectations, and mission.  Teachers are implementing class meetings, building classroom rules, and establishing the norms for each classroom/grade level.  Students will demonstrate what they have learned in a presentation to parents/guardians on Sept. 17 at 5:00 pm.  This is the same night as the PEAK meeting, which begins at 6:00 pm.  Students should wear khaki pants or skirts and white polo shirts for this event.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.  With your continued support, we can make our school a wonderful place for learning. Your daily donations and commitment to the school do not go unnoticed.  We truly appreciate all you do.

Most appreciative,

Dr. Danielle Robertson
